I am a reservoir engineer with a strong programming background, focusing on the development of reservoir simulations. I have a deep interest in Artificial Intelligence. My long-term career goal is to apply my reservoir engineering expertise and programming skills to create innovative AI solutions for the petroleum industry.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering from Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University and a master’s degree from Middle East Technical University (METU). During my undergraduate studies, I learned finite difference methods and material balance simulation techniques for gas condensate reservoirs. In my master’s program, I developed a 2D numerical simulation model for gas condensate reservoirs and validated it using Eclipse and Petrel software. I am currently pursuing my PhD at METU, continuing my research in reservoir engineering.
I began exploring machine learning in 2019 through self-study using open educational resources like Kaggle. During my Master’s and Doctoral programs at Middle East Technical University, I further developed my skills through coursework. Currently, I work as an AI Engineer at the Turkish Petroleum Offshore Technology Center, where I apply machine learning techniques and open-source large language models to solve complex problems across different departments within the company.
I completed a full-stack web development bootcamp at Tech Academy (October 2019 – January 2020), where I gained a solid foundation in Django, REST APIs, and modern frontend technologies. Afterward, I worked remotely for eight months as a Back-End Developer at Labrin. I also spent seven months as a Freelance Web Developer on Fiverr, delivering complete end-to-end projects tailored to client needs.
